Naruto: Ninja Clash in the Land of No More Movie Tickets06.07.07

Naruto_Movie-3.jpg

I had no idea what I was up against when my son asked me to see the Naruto movie three weeks ago. With little planning and preparation, I went to pick up the tickets on Wednesday afternoon only to find out that the show was sold out. Unbecoming to me, this is Naruto’s first feature film in the US and although not a good business decision to me, it is only playing at select theaters at one select time.

I ended up seeing it at Atlantic Station after acquiring tickets through Fandango. Again surprised, the theater was packed to capacity. There are way more Naruto fans than I ever realized. A bigger surprise is that some of Naruto’s fans happen to be grown adult men and women. At first I thought that was a little weird until I finally warmed up to the movie. Action, comedy, suspense and ninja’s made for an enjoyable time. The theme was surrounded by a “never give up” plot that parents should enjoy but then again there is a scene with about 10,000 knives… spoiler.

I know that Darwin is an anime fan from my Joost post. I wonder if he caught it.

Go See 30003.11.07

If you’re big on action war movies like I am then you will love 300.  It starts strong, slows down for a bit and then finishes high.

It’s based on a novel by Frank Miller, so if you like the blood in Sin City then you will not be surprised by the generous amount of decapitations and sword play in 300.  Mediocre acting with a good story, great digital cinematography and supurb action sequences equates to a fun ride to the theaters for 300.  Who knows, you might actually learn a little history in the process.

Hustle and Quotes08.17.05

I recently caught Hustle and Flow…. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be :/

I took a lot home with me that night but nothing more important that this quote –
“There are two types of people: those that talk the talk and those that walk the walk. People who walk the walk sometimes talk the talk but most times they don’t talk at all, ‘cause they walkin’. Now, people who talk the talk, when it comes time for them to walk the walk, you know what they do? They talk people like me into walkin’ for them”
